About the Book

To Whom It May Concern is a collection of simple, direct, and classically crafted poems that remind us of the brevity and fragility of life while also celebrating our brief moment in time. All living creatures have one thing in common: someday, they will no longer be living creatures. At what point in life does humanity sense this highest of truths?

While we know not when, where, how, or even why, we are the only creature possessing the knowledge that death must eventually occur. Since we cannot fight the passage of our lives from young to old, we must accept that this is the only way life can and should be lived...until the day we—like all living things—must answer the siren call of Death.

The author—who lost a parent as a child and a child as a parent—hopes these poems will touch your mind and heart while perhaps teaching you both pain and hope.

About the Author

After earning a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing, Thomas J. Ahearn spent years as a "struggling writer" while supporting himself as a lifeguard, teacher, script reader, and freelance editor. He's a happily married father of one living in Northern California and is currently working on a novel.
