About the Author

Derek Hughes was born in the Britain and was educated at the University of Manchester where he graduated with a BA in English. He began writing at the age of 11 and his poem ‘Christmas on the Somme’ was used as the 1977 seasonal theme for the Cathedral of Manchester.
