About the Book
When his father went into a nursing home, David Penniman retrieved a collection of unpublished short stories from belongings going into storage. He edited his father's work and then added some of his own. The combined collection gives readers insight into a family and community from the perspective of two generations.
About the Author
William Leon Penniman was born in 1901 and died in 1994. From his early 20’s until his death he wrote as a way of exploring his world and his relationships. He wrote poetry, which has recently been published in a volume titled Behind the Little House. He also wrote short stories, some of which appear here. His work was never published during his lifetime, and that’s too bad. He had something to say, and what he said is presented here for your pleasure – and for his friends and family.
William David Penniman was born in 1937. He lives in Buffalo, New York and works at the university. Like his father, he writes fiction as a means of exploring his world and his relationships – including the one with his father. While he is published in professional literature, this is his first venture into the world of published fiction. He decided against waiting for his children to collect his writings and publish them posthumously. Instead, he presents some of them now for your pleasure – and for his friends and family.
