About the Book

SILVER CARESS is set in the wild mining town of Silverton Colorado in 1882. It is the story of Felicity Howard, a sheltered ex-nun from Philadelphia who falls in love with rugged, rough talking Jake McCullough, a miner with no interest in the pious little innocent who, through a quirk of fate, suddenly owns half his silver mine. The result of their partnership is a funny and sexy love story about two people as different as leather and lace.

About the Author

Was it fate? JANE KIDDER (right) and CHARLA CHIN, who write under the pseudonym of Charlotte Simms, have reason to think so.

The ladies moved from the Midwest to Scottsdale, Arizona, within a month of each other and bought homes on the same block. An immediate friendship formed when they discovered how many common bonds they had. In addition to their middle-America roots, they were the same age, had been married the same length of time, and both had a son and a daughter. They also soon discovered they shared a fierce addiction to historical romances; so much so that their husbands challenged them to write one of their own.

Charla and Jane eagerly took up the gauntlet and a new writing team was born, Silver Caress is their first novel and they hope their readers will find the humor in their book a reflection of the great fun they had writing it.
