About the Author
This ninety-year-old ex-bronco buster/novelist left home at the age of 13 to begin the life of a cowboy. Over the years, he worked at various ranches including the biggest horse outfit in the United States. Headquartered in Wyoming, the ranch ran between one and three hundred thousand horses in seven western states. He rode his last bucking horse in 1954 when he broke seven saddle horses.
M. M. Lehman’s adventurous life took other turns as well. He once traveled into the Arctic Circle in the middle of winter on snowshoes and drove on the Alcan Highway when it was a dirt road.
Married for 62 years, he now resides in Colorado and continues to write. He has written numerous western novels. Among several recommended by the Library Journal are, Texans on the Powder, Trappers on that Devil Water, The Golden Bullet, and The Ghost of the Bar H. He has also contributed articles to Cowboy magazine and The Montana Journal.
