Born February 14, 1962, Baruti always wanted to be a writer. Growing up he was very shy and found the written word as a way of expressing his true self. Baruti earned a B. A. in Journalism in 1985 from Texas Southern University.

After a decade as a teacher, He decided to pursue his lifelong dream of being a writer and life teacher. He has been influenced by the teachings of Jaromogi Abebe Aygeman , Minister Farrakhan and many others. Baruti studies many theologies but his mission is the liberation of African and all people in need of spiritual recovery. He continues to seek divine connection with the supreme being that governs nature and the universe. Umoga, Ujamma, Uhuru!
