About the Author
Joyce C. Smolkin, M.A., M.S. is Director of Breast Health at the American Cancer Society on Long Island working in the area of breast cancer prevention and early detection. She brings her experience as a breast cancer survivor to her job, the position of co-president of her local breast cancer coalition, and her involvement with various organizations that educate women and assist women diagnosed with breast cancer. She and her husband, Stanley, have two grown sons.
