About the Book
It was not easy raising a family-especially five sons.
These memoirs of my contribution to the American Baby Boom celebrate the highs and lows of creating and being a family. From meeting the man of my dreams to achieving the American dream of raising a family, to welcoming my eighteen Grandchildren, and six Great Grandchildren, my story proves that the true joys of living come with love, faith, hard work, imagination-and plenty of patience!
About the Author
When our children were very young, my husband suggested that I keep track of our family?s precious moments. I?ve been tucking notes into a binder ever since. When we were blessed with grandchildren, I decided to turn my shabby scraps of paper into this book. After I went through photo albums and read scores of assorted notes and letters, the task I?d set for myself seemed truly daunting. My research brought back many cherished memories and strengthened my resolve to give my family a unique gift.
When I began writing in earnest, I realized I needed help. Many people contributed to this book and I give considerable credit for their help and generosity. A simple thank you does not convey a sufficient degree of indebtedness. My gratitude cannot be sufficiently measure because it is endless.
I was born in Denver, CO. My wonderful catholic parents were of limited income, but we were a happy family of five. My parents moved to California in 1936. I traveled with the USO when I was 18 years old and I met Jack Nutter at Camp Cook. We were married in 1946 and our first son was 1947 in Los Angeles, CA. I still live in California.
