About the Book

Teens!!
It isn't fair that you have depression or bipolar disorder. You can continue along the same path, but chances are, if someone gave you this workbook, that path isn't the best. Working through these pages will help you understand what the heck everyone is talking about. You might even see some of your behaviors and thoughts. It has practical suggestions to help you cope. What does it hurt to try? Ultimately, it is your choice to work through the issues. But, it's kinda nice to see that you aren't the only one to have these crazy thoughts.

About the Author

When Linda de Sosa turned 36, she became suicidally depressed. During hospitalization and therapy, she met her soul mate, Brad. They were to marry, but he was living with bipolar disorder and post traumatic stress disorder from Vietnam. Ultimately, he couldn't live with the pain any longer and took his own life. Thus, Linda became unique - someone who understands both sides of suicide victims.

Knowing him allowed her to recognize her own son as bipolar at 12 though no one believed her. Through years of supporting him, she learned a lot. He is now a successful college graduate.

She thought they were in the clear. Then, on Christmas morning, 2009, her 28 year old son, Michael, succumbed to the demons of his depression and jumped off an overpass. He updated his Facebook status that “it was a long time coming and not to blame yourselves” from the top of the bridge. Of the hundreds that mourned him, only 3 knew he was depressed. None knew how seriously.

Mental illness is just that, an illness, not a weakness. The strong are the ones who ask for help. She hopes others can learn from her family so no one need go through this pain again. Please.
