About the Author

The author wrote this allegory in the 1950's while a student in Europe. It was published in 1961 in Canada and soon had an enthusiastic audience. Elman's experiences in the solitude of the Arctic to the cafes of Belgium, the loss of loved ones and his search for a universal principle led to this poetic journey of the soul. Mr. Elman lives in Atlantic Canada with his wife, Anne. He has two children Kate and David; and two grandchildren Elijah and Sophie.
