About the Book

David Stone realized at a very early age that he had the ability to manipulate powerful individuals by demanding their attention. He learned that size and strength mean nothing when confronted with willpower.

Unfortunately, David finds that his feelings of power are accompanied by feelings of worthlessness. An anger in him builds from the fact that people will only respond to him after an exhausting show of extreme behavior. David's victories are sad ones, but they are all he has.

Eventually David channels his anger through radical organizations. His talent for influencing others quickly leads him to leadership positions.

As leader and spokesperson for these organizations, David finds that his need for power is more important than any ideal held by the groups, and he wonders at what he has become.

About the Author

The author was born in Gary, Indiana. He received his bachelor's degree from Indiana University and has been a teacher for 30 years. Mr. Baran now teaches English at a small business school in Lancaster, PA where he lives with his wife of 30 years, his two daughters and his dog, Gelly.
