About the Book

Bill Kavanaugh, a very ambitious young man from Colorado, has a dream to have his own ranch. While going to MIT, he meets his chance to reach that dream and a second family he would do anything for. He soon takes on the challenge of finishing college in California and helping his new friend, John build a ranch before he builds his own. Bill meets up with the biggest challenge in his life, which concerns a nine-year-old little girl, John's niece. Kate, orphaned, and living with her aunt and uncle, is feisty, recalcitrant, and in love with her “Giant,” Bill.

Over the next ten years, a metamorphosis of feeling occurs that Bill is not sure he should experience. But, Kate is certain of her love for Bill. Bill has a lover and has to make a decision while at the same time tame his Kate without extinguishing her fire.
