About the Book
When the stresses of life and a ruined marriage turn Renaldo Fischer’s once bright existence gray, he turns to a special friend and counselor to help him out—his 70-pound, purebred English bulldog, Faccia Bello.
Faccia Bello’s unique ability to observe human nature helps him teach his owner about the true joys in life: a warm bath, the beauty of the moon, or a good chair leg to chew on. Renaldo and his bulldog forge a unique relationship learning from and supporting each other.
With Faccia Bello, Renaldo Fischer proves that you don’t have to be human to be a great literary character. The unforgettable dog, and his short but amazing life, will live on through this touching book.
About the Author
Renaldo Fischer, M.D. is a radiologist with an M.A. in Transpersonal Psychology and Archetypal Drama. His book, The Shaman's Bulldog: A Love Story, sprang from personal experience with his bulldog and a quotation from naturalist Henry Beston who said, "We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals...they are other nations, caught with us in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth."
