About the Author

Maudie Montgomery George is a very active wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.

After traveling the world and raising her three children, she and her husband Grady are retired and living in their little country home written about in this book.

The fields now lay silent from the noise of machinery and the activity of harvest time, but are serene and peaceful with the occasional howl of a coyote or the moo of a cow as they no longer produce those watermelons, peanuts and corn, but grazing for the cattle.

Her hobbies throughout the years include, making porcelain antique reproduction dolls, carpentry, decorating and sewing.

Maudie loves working with wood and has constructed several pieces of furniture, including her queen size, four poster bed and a large, country dining table.

She has a passion for life and all things that she undertakes.

Now that they are retired, she and Grady have been enjoying recording their gospel music together.

Maudie has enjoyed re-living the memories of her childhood as she wrote this book. It was a more primitive lifestyle than most of her peers experienced and she wouldn?t have traded places with anyone in the world.
