The Reaching Your Potential Instructor's Manual is a collection of uniform instruction lessons. These guidelines are based on solid research-research and development that affirms the importance of accountability and responsibility in meeting young people's needs. Including design, management, operation, and evaluation issues across mentoring settings (workplace, community, school, and adjudicated facilities). There is also information in regards to, news from and for the mentoring field, plus a database of mentoring programs to search for a mentoring program near you, and information valuable to teachers and youth development and volunteer management professionals from many fields. About the Author

I grew up in the Philadelphia, Pa. area. There I attended local primary, secondary and high schools in the Philadelphia area. Many years later I attended LaSalle University and Delaware Valley University majoring in Computer Science. It was college that helped me realizes the importance of education. I further realized that one must be highly motivated to succeed in today?s society and work place.

I always was intrigued with the idea of working with young adults in the Philadelphia area. Over the years, I?ve worked in various areas of youth development throughout the Philadelphia, Pa. Region. During those years, I?ve mentored many of young adults in the public school system, social service environment, and the judicial system.

In September of 1997, I decided to start my own youth education/mentor program. My passion to work with young adults came to the forefront to a greater extent with this idea. From his vision and efforts The Reach To Your Youth Mentor Project was founded and Incorporated in September of 1997. This project has been going strong since its inception. The decision to start RTYYMP was fueled by my desire to help young people of today understand the importance of character education, skills enhancement and self-empowerment.
