The Road Back follows three teens who become disabled. It explores the obstacles they overcome to accept their disabilities and make new lives--covering hospitalization, rehabilitation, adjustments to school, friends, and family, and problems of self-image and self-esteem.

About the Author

Harriet Sirof is the author of nine novels and three nonfiction books for young adults as well as numerous adult and juvenile short stories, and educational materials. She also teaches writing at Brooklyn College.
