About the Book

A young girl's mother commits suicide on her 16th birthday. Soon after her father sends her to live with a Grandmother she's never met on a mysterious island in the Gulf of Mexico 36 miles from the Louisiana Coast. Once there she encounters a woman more harsh and cruel than anyone she's ever known yet at the same time begins to piece together the fragments of her family's past. A past more bizarre and intriguing than anything she could have imagined.

Yet the real clues to her family's past lay hidden within an abandoned house hidden deep within the cypress swamp. A house with a terrible history. It's there that the ghosts of the past reveal themselves and awaken in the young girl truths that her grandmother has tried so desperately to hide. Truths that threaten to shatter her very existence on the island and her relationship with a young man as mysterious as the Island itself.

Yet once these secrets are revealed, they are so terrible that she will spend the rest of her life trying to conceal them.

About the Author

Gene Ferrier was adopted when he was 10 months old and grew up in Pineville, Louisiana. He went to Louisiana Tech University and majored in Graphic Design. After school he moved to Chicago IL for several years. Gene recently moved back to Pineville, Louisiana to complete his first book.
