About the Book

Someone once quipped, "Does anyone happen to know where we're heading and what are we all doing in this handbasket anyway?" Sometimes life seems like that: rushed, confused, out of control, lacking purpose and direction.

As the pace of modern life quickens, it becomes ever more important to consciously slow down its mad rush. We greatly enhance our appreciation for life when we actually take the time to reflect on what is unfolding before our eyes and spend time with our thoughts and feelings relative to those experiences. In short, we become contemplatives in the midst of living busy lives.

This book is a collection of some of my life's experiences; from the mundane to the sublime. All experiences have value, not just the sublime, and I've enjoyed spending time with these experiences, incorporating them more fully into my awareness and my worldview.

This is not a "how to" book; I leave it to my readers to devise their own strategies for living. But I do hope that this book provides my readers with a stimulus to connect more deeply with their own life experiences, an endeavor that will result in a deeper awareness of oneself and one's life journey.
