About the Book

When we connect with others, there are compelling reasons that lead us to believe the connections are 'real'- chemistry, eye contact, surges of energy and desire. It is these feelings, these questions, and the many emotions stirred throughout life that this author brings to life in this book.

Karen Phillips is a human development scholar that not only teaches others, but practices being a good friend, mother, and companion. She conveys her love for friends and family using words to paint a picture of their special place in her heart. She invites others to use and adapt these poems to their life and share them with their own loved ones.

What happens when the desire goes unanswered or the source for the energy are removed? What happens when things get mixed up and misconstrued? Do the connections fray? Is the electricity gone? Explore these thoughts through verse.

About the Author

For most of her professional life, Karen Phillips has been a university faculty member working to teach parents, families, and professionals about working with children. She has written published many scholarly works professionally. Over time, she has developed poems for special occasions for the important people in her life. Through the years, as her children grew, through death, disaster, and divorce, poetry helped Karen find meaning in life and relationships while using poetry as a means to clarify her thoughts. She gives them now to you in hopes they will inspire you to use them, enjoy them and create your own. A native of the south, she has lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Missouri.
