Born in Iowa in 1921, Marion P. Johnson enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942. Following his discharge, he served in the reserves and operated a grain and livestock farm in central Iowa. Johnson and his wife of sixty-five years, Mardean, are now retired and living in North Liberty, Iowa.
