About the Book

Valerie Fairhurst wanted for nothing; her husband Julian made sure of that; he loved her. He had everything: handsome, movie star looks; spectacular success; and an easy charm that other women found irresistible. Too bad he was already married to beautiful Valerie, too bad she was the chatelaine of the Beverly Hills mansion, the mistress of the ocean-going luxury yacht, and not them. Maybe she was too lucky, maybe it had all come too easily, and was too good to last.

She sensed no portent of disaster when Jamie Robertson met her at a party one summer night to tell her how much he’d admired her singing at a concert five years earlier, the concert where she’d met another adoring fan: Julian. Like Julian, Jamie was handsome, charming and attentive. But there was something else, unknown to her: his hidden agenda which would be the trigger to set off an increasingly bizarre and shocking chain of events, culminating in murder and an extremely nasty police investigation.

But first she was forced to see her perfect husband in a new and sinister light. Suddenly she found living with him intolerable, yet escape proved remarkably difficult.

Other men suddenly appeared: persuasive charmers; enigmatic strangers, and one who obviously hated women. She felt isolated, threatened, drifting in deep, hostile waters. The sharks were closing in, and they were hungry.

About the Author

Andrew Lithgow loves to read. He also loves to sail, cruising on Lake Ontario when not working as a machine designer in Toronto. One Fall, instead of hauling his boat into winter storage as usual, he aimed her south and when he reached Florida he discovered what he’d long suspected: he also loves to write, and Provocation was born.
