About the Book
It is my determined intention to explore the many branching and intertwining interactions of three components of the self: internal, social, and universal. Poetry allows me to be cynical, argumentative, didactic, eclectic, scientific, absurd, surrealistic and speculative, all at the same instance of expression. To argue in the format of harmoniously overlapping dichotomies and abstract ideas is something with which I am driven.
Our cumulative understanding of the universe is growing as the individual understanding of its significance and dimensions is shrinking. It is my intent to harmoniously mix politics, love, history, passion and compassion, science and metaphysics to create a unique perspective on existence. Our cumulative understanding of the universe is growing as the individual understanding of its significance and dimensions is shrinking. It is my intent to harmoniously mix politics, love, history, passion and compassion, science and metaphysics to create a dynamic explanation of existence.
About the Author
After twenty-five years of Nursing, I retired to devote my remaining years to painting and writing. Being born into an Azeri family, I came to States in 1965 from Tehran to get a degree in Engineering. Along came late sixties revolution and I found myself caught in its web. I became an intellectual liberal, an existential atheist, and a romantic. I traveled around the world and United States trying to find a meaning and purpose for my existence.
After many years of travel, in 1984, I ended up in San Francisco and found my space on this small planet. Imagine: Life Is a Poem is an accumulated body of work representing my philosophy of existence and observations. They are existential and liberal at core with extensions into domains of scientific, absurd, and surreal. The eclectic and didactic nature of my poems deal with old moral issues with turns and twists reflecting the modern world from my unique perspective, so I hope.
