The primary goal of medical organizations has shifted from promoting practice excellence to obtaining the most lucrative fee schedules and the largest possible share of the government and private healthcare budgets for their members.
The patient is essentially on his own on the playing field, in a complex game in which he/ she has no leverage and virtually no knowledge of the science or the rules.
About the Author
I am a general and vascular surgeon with more than 30 years of practice experience, board certified in General surgery and Surgical Critical Care. I also hold several US and International patents on Surgical Devices. I live in New Jersey. I am married, have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
