About the Book

Through My Mother's Words is the life story of a woman who, in spite of adversity, remains strong and resourceful. She focuses on the positive and refuses to allow hardship to diminish her devotion to family or her love for life. From her humble beginnings on Casey Hill, an idyllic, picturesque area of rural eastern North Carolina, to the home where she raised her three daughters, life has not been easy. However, her story of strength, commitment, and eternal optimism will inspire others to adopt her life philosophy and to realize they are not alone.

About the Author

After a lifetime of observing her mother accept life?s most difficult challenges with such grace and dignity, Sandra Gurley Broome, wrote Through My Mother?s Words: The Memoirs of Peggy Jean Casey Gurley.

The author discovered her love for writing while obtaining a bachelor?s degree from North Carolina State University. She lives with her husband, Tim, in Clayton, North Carolina, and is most content when watching her backyard bird feeders and gardening.
