About the Book

This is the story of the Cox family, told in brief vignettes. They focus primarily on when the children were young and times were hard and unbending during the 1930s and 40s in West Texas. These are tales of courage, love shared, and battles won.

Many readers may recognize pieces of their own families in a period when America grew, young men went to war, and right and wrong were everyday virtues everyone understood.

About the Author

Nan Mahon is an award-winning journalist, freelance feature writer and author. She is the author of two novels; Junkyard Blues, and Pink Pearls and Irish Whiskey.

Hard Times and Honeysuckle was written as a tribute to her family. She lives in Sacramento, California.
