About the Book

The purpose of this book is to provide an introduction to Group and Team Communication. Emphasis is placed in helping the reader become a more skillful communicator in groups and teams. Special emphasis is placed on general concepts of group and team communication, verbal and nonverbal communication, listening, theories, conflict, problem solving, idea generation, idea implementation, leadership, e-collaboration, and evaluation. Assertions made in the book are supported by expert testimony and references to groups and teams in contemporary organizations.

About the Author

Donald B. Egolf, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Communication at the University of Pittsburgh. Sondra L. Chester, Ph.D. is a Communication Consultant in the city of Pittsburgh. Both authors have published and presented widely in the areas of normal communication processes and communication pathologies.
