About the Book
This book is for people who don't know the meaning or the price of freedom. A young girl and her family struggle to get out of Latvia during WWII, and live in Germany as refugees in war torn Germany. Not knowing when or if the next bit of food is coming or where the next bomb will fall, is a test of their endurance. These trials and tribulations contribute to their strength to survive and start life over in America.
It is also the story of a young girl and later a woman in search of love. When as a young girl, falls prey to a predator, it changes her life forever.
She persevered through many rejections, but earned her respect. She completed three degrees in education through hard work and determination.
Later she returned to the still Communist controlled Latvia, and saw just how terribly her extended family and all Latvians had suffered during the years of occupation.
About the Author
Baiba earned her PhD in education and has always wanted to write. She has a story to tell about her heritage and difficulties as a child and adult. She lives in PA with her two cats, Cinnamon and Furby.
