About the Book

Troy Madigan, the son of a Confederate veteran, and his sister Rebecca, grow up in 1880s Abilene, Texas. Rebecca proves at an early age to be a femme fatale and sets in motion the major events of the story. Troy, after killing a man in a gunfight defending his sister's honor, ends up in Dodge City as a cowboy. Eventually moving on to Wichita, Troy finds his calling as a lawman. About the Author

Ray Renek was born in 1922 in Los Angeles. After serving in the Second World War, he returned home to attend college, majoring in Speech Arts and Drama. After an extensive career in early television and radio?in markets in California, Texas and Kansas?Renek pursued a second career before retirement. He continued to keep active in the theatre, both locally and regionally, culminating with the role of Virgil in Bus Stop in an Off Broadway performance in New York City in 1987. Ray Renek currently resides in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
