SPIRIT Our lives are filled with mystery, we can never hold in hand; we shall know only partially the voice of God in the land; yet nothing can be forever, we shall someday understand! Can you catch a living spirit, hold it tightly in your hand; can you catch the surging ocean as it leaps upon the sand; can you grasp the living sunshine in the fire of life's demands? REDEMPTION Life is redeemed, though hope be dim and eyes no longer see this living gift of eternity, lovingly given by God. Is it possible that our glimpse of heaven can be trusted to be good? Accept this miracle of life and hold it close. Trust, trust, and again trust! For nothing eternal is lost when the great unseen becomes seen. Love and learning are our soul's possession, never to be lost or torn away. So time, lead on! And one day we will find we are eternally alive with God in the light, where trust becomes a beautiful, transformed journey! SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 Searing the heart with fire! So many names, so many living souls, we cannot speak. We weep, as God must weep, at such a loss. Yet though we greatly grieve, we shall always celebrate the high courage, and extreme bravery of so many loving lives. Their names sing in the wind! Our love lives on in the heart and mind. See this love that illumines the darkness, for everyone now lost to us God has found; and we shall all once again celebrate life with them, in the light! GOD'S HANDS Now they fling clouds of stars about the sky, in joy and love! Through miles of smiles His joy creates, and patterns form anew. Create! A pattern find. Our changing lives again renew! Our God flings clouds of stars about the sky in joy! Rejoice!

With a poem on the newly formed United Nations in her teens, Marjorie Jillson began her long and joy filled journey in the language of poetry. These poems are a small collection from many, written off and on over a period of about fifty years. During periods of difficult illness during her adult life, she became even more convinced that God does have purpose for each one of our lives. We are forever connected with God. She includes in this group of poems, her reflections on God, nature and some "tough stuff" to consider. Now in her 70's, she lets some of these poems go into the wind.
The author previously published a poetry book in 2004, Windswept, and has written the text for five hymn publications with music by the top German composer, Heinz Werner Zimmermann.
About the Author
marjorie jillson is a native of Detroit, MI, receiving her B.A. from The College of Wooster in Ohio in religion, followed by further studies at Wayne State University in elementary education. Now retired, she worked as a secretary in Washington, D.C. during the Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy years, first at the Pentagon and later at Gallaudet College (a liberal arts College for the Deaf.) Between bouts with difficult illness, she was an office assistant in the 1970's for a Detroit dentist. Her early reliance upon God grew into her greatest sustaining hope.
