About the Author

Lucinda Perry was born in San Antonio, Texas. Her parents were Willie and Vieta Smith. She is the ninth child out of twelve children.
She grew up in a rich neighborhood, even though her parents were not rich. She attended segregated schools because of segregation.
Later, she lived in Indiana, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Hawthorne, California.
Lucinda received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Education and her Master?s Degree in Secondary Education from California State University, Los Angeles.
She is a retired teacher. She was a teacher for 26 years, an administrative assistant, and a drug prevention counselor for 8 years for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
She is also involved in real estate.
She is the mother of two daughters - Stephanie and Yvette.
She is an active member of the Mother?s Board of West Angeles Church of God in Christ.
Lucinda has written another book entitled The Perfect Mate. This book is a love story.
