Caught All Up In It

“She was in on everything from the beginning, the whole time and who else had she told,” he wondered. Their relationship began to unravel at the seams. This girl and her brother from the very beginning had deceived him. Their whole relationship was a part of an evil plan and he became sickened as he read blow by blow every step in life they had made together. Roberts even scheduled the pregnancy. He had her taking ovulation test the month that she got pregnant. The thought that she was a part of this whole scheme was too overwhelming for him. And when he looked at his Mona Lisa he realized that he had nothing more than a stinking bowl of shit. He needed a way out. What he needed was a nice clean break. So he began looking and searching everything and stumbled across a steamy online romance that she was having with one of her co-workers. After chatting on-line at night and falling asleep at the computer she awoke suddenly discovering she had left an email opened and tried to close it, too late. Strick had been standing over her for about three minutes and read the whole explicit series. He smiled at her as he discovered that she had given him what he’d wanted all along, a reason to leave. And since he was leaving he decided to come clean and to tell her that he had found the books in the attic and he had known everything. He was finally free. First she cried repeatedly. And when that didn’t work she explained to him that those were the original plans but then she fell in love with him and she had no intentions of doing any of those things to him, she’d just forgotten the books were still in the attic. Next came the threats of child support and when that didn’t rock him she threw the dagger at him. She waited until he’d packed all of the things that he was taken with him and had all of his bags at the front door. She sat as up straight as she could on the couch and took a slow drag off of her cigarette and said, “If I can’t have you no one will. You don’t think that was the only copy do you? I’ll send your ass to jail for life before I let you leave me to raise these babies by myself and see you go start over with someone else.” He stood there motionless and stared at her. He knew she meant every word. So now he’s caught up. Caught up because he’s in love with me and caught up because she too in love with him to let him go. What started out as a game has now backfired on them both. She really loves Darren and I think she would much rather see him suffer in jail than to see him leave her to be with another woman. In a way I feel sorry for him but in a way I’m mad as hell. Mad as hell that he took it upon himself to involve me in all of this drama between him and her.
