About the Author
Karlene Tillie is a former science teacher and has been a student of baking since her fingers could reach the mixing bowl. While living in Europe, she attended cooking schools, reviewed restaurants, and compiled her first recipe book, American Cookies. Tillie currently resides in the Chicago suburbs and celebrates the joys of baking in her weekly recipe column, The Impatient Baker.
