About the Author

John P. Theis, PhD, is a registered psychologist living in Guelph, Ontario. He began his clinical research on fathers and sons while a professor at St. Jerome?s University in Waterloo, Canada. Theis?s interest in the topic is deeply embedded in his relationship with his two adult children, with his father and with the many men who have honoured him with their stories in therapy.
