About the Author

Jessica C. Thurmond, eighteen-year-old from St. Louis, Mo. Daughter of a Preacher and Teacher. First book about life, experiences, and dealing with being a Preacher?s Daughter. Her writing style is at the beginning stages, but as soon as she starts to write more she will be a pro. She hasn?t been through a lot, but she has seen a lot. Because of that she wrote this book over a two-year period. In these poems she wrote about life, love, friends, and coming to the point where she learned to be a women. When turning eighteen she made the decision to publish her first book so that she could let everyone know how she felt. Several of her favorite writers are Maya Angelou, Kimberla Lawson Roby and Stephanie Perry Moore. Her Favorite Poem from her book is What is a black American Woman? Last, and Yesterday. She hopes people will enjoy her book.
