About the Book

The Caribanstories adventure series mixes mystery and mysticism. Grace, Hatuey and their friends Canela and Joel travel through worlds of first peoples gathering information and passing initiations that open an ancient awareness about the time period we now are living. Book 1, Grace the Mystical Caribbean Mission, is set at the beach in Port Salut where volleyball, campfires and music make magical spring vacations. After Grace disappears, magic switches hands and witchcraft poisons the search. Our friends’ mission is important; their Caribbean heritage is rich with indigenous Taino spirits and deities, African mysteries, rituals and vibrations, and their roots were thoroughly fertilized by European Christianity, sects and secret societies. The teenagers find out about the Mayan’s calendar and their prophecies about the World of the Fifth Sun that comes after 2012. The Caribanstories collection is fiction based on matrix showing four main categories of documentation: vodou, black magic, first-peoples, and endemic ecology. Contemporary Caribbean artists have contributed directly and indirectly to this work with their music, artwork, and lifestyles where the magical and incredible is the spice of everyday life of the privileged people who live on the islands today.
