About the Book
Betty Rocks notices a change in the stores in her area. Designs, colors and styles of the boutiques were taking a new turn. Betty, a hair designer and shop owner, contemplates how she can compete with what she already has. But her answer to the question was a no. And with the thought of not keeping up with the times caused her worry and concern. Until her five-year-old daughter showed her a book of dolls that gave her the idea on what to do. But it will be enough for her clients? Can she be a success or will it be a wrong turn for her and her business? The Do Family has an annual family get together. And every year, a family member is made responsible for buying a unique gift for the entire family. One year Uncle Calvin presented gifts of his homemade sandalwood cologne for the men and for the women. It was a great idea at first, but when the cologne made contact with the skin of his family members, they in turn got a long lasting scent of hickory-smoked wood. It was an embarrassment for poor Uncle Calvin. The next year would be Sir Grandpa Clarence’s turn to make a difference in offering each family member a gift that would represent the family as a whole. He finds an advertisement on doll art. Would this gift be appropriate? Or would it humiliate him in front of everyone? A group of villagers were living in a world of gloominess and dreariness. Searching for a statue that had once graced their lands, and therefore was a land of beauty and sunshine. But as the statue disappeared, the villagers were left with the surroundings where nature went into a deep sleep, and animals hibernated for the longest of times. They continued to search day and night for something that would change their little world. All would change when a cloud dropped millions of little dolls onto the ground. But the villagers, frightened by the cloud that spoke above them, were uncertain about the dolls that appeared and were unwilling to retrieve them. Joy, a doll artist, is a participant of the Ascension Center. Joy uncertain about her own life and gift of making dolls, came to the center to learn what she could offer to the world of beauty, peace and love. But it was a challenge and it was a task that did not come easy to her. She was tested beyond her skills to see that the gifts given to her had purpose. How would she find the worth of her art and the worth of herself? It is a quest for her to answer those questions and her responsibility to face the obstacles in living the life she was given to live. And more
