Sudhir closed his eyes trying to listen to Baba who was chanting some mantras, but instead of the mantras heard something different in his voice that echoed ears. The experience was wondrous; when he opened eyes and looked at Baba, Baba was chanting mantras, which was clear. But the moment he closed eyes, Baba was saying something into his ears that was quite different unrelated to the hymn ." The book is the recount of meeting of Sudhir with the stranger and unfolds consequent upon his tryst with the mystic.

"Sanjana said, marrying outside the caste is a sin in our society. They would never accept our relationship, even at the cost of our lives."

"If that was so then why did we do it?" Sudhir asked.

She smiled, running her hand over the back of his head she said, "this was our vengeful act against them and the society. If the society could impose on us the rules that are against our will and affect our lives then we are entitled to break the rules and that is what we did." Without a single word further on the subject he understood what she was trying to tell him

About the Author

Dr. Pitam Singh (b. 1955) is a Chemical Engineer working with Government of India. He has M.Sc. degree from University of Bath, United Kingdom and Ph.D. in Social Science and has written many technical books. His previous book, Women Legislators in Indian Politics, published in 2003, is a best seller. The present book Mysterious Envelope: A Hidden Destiny is his first novel. Presently, he is living in Delhi, India.
