About the Book

The Meeting World

Meetings are a way of life in our country. Companies, associations, government agencies, and non-profit groups hold them. The defining nature of a meeting is more than merely a gathering of people within four walls.

The meeting environment is a living system in which the design of spaces will affect an individual throughout a program-positively or negatively. From the frenetic, action-oriented world of business, now a transformation is necessary for the participant in a meeting. The new mindset is a more passive one.

The chapters in this book are designed to stimulate the thinking of anyone involved in any aspect of meeting conception, organization, development and execution to achieve greater meeting productivity and participant satisfaction.

"Your Conference Center is outstanding for its attention to detail, accommodations and building features. Your people are true professionals. That is the real reason our conference was so successful."
-Shelby I. Molter, Manager, Manufacturing Industry Education, IBM

"Never in my years of conducting meetings have I found the facilities so excellent and so geared for a meeting. Your staff really made the conducting of a meeting a pleasure."
-Jack I. Mills, V.P. National Sales Manager, MacMillan Publishing Company
