Née comes from the French word for birth. a jour-née or journey are moments of birth. Every second, every step, every smile herein is a journey of the birth of awareness, Edmund Husserl’s being of being of being: the reality of the existence of being an individual inexorable part of a larger whole, our global village, our environment, the universe. Vertical hierarchy, where Divinity reigns, stars sparkle and burn, clouds invisibly form and rain the 1% percent realm of the visible. Our daily life is the ballast, the middle path; deeper still below within are hopes and dreams, prayers and whispers, inner children laughing and crying, electrons dancing, intentions brewing. Transverse realms, language and cultures, markets and kingdoms, cities and rural villages. All breathing the same air, our ancestors’ inspiration, perspiration, blood, and tears; sacred ground, soul gardens. Lunch with Krishna is a journey into a single moment of awareness, a moral imperative to survive and grow, at the risk of oblivion. Myriad perspectives of a moment, the juncture where all drops: I You He She Us Them We fall into each other’s resonant waves, that pool of our collective consciousness and intention, our human treasury of dreams, hopes, and tax dollars. We are all the protagonists at different levels of culpability and consciousness. Most importantly, we are all on this journey together. Deconstruct a man, his Porsche, cigar, the clothes on his back gasoline and hubcaps, cell phones and semi-conductor chips, body and soul, love and fear, degrees of unity and isolation, individuality, awareness, cellular, emotional, elemental, environmental, commercial, international. How many strangers’ hands, how many lives, have sculpted our comfort and luxury?

About the Book
Peering through the cracked windshield of his totaled Porsche, Marshall Holden scans the broken horizon, down to the surf crashing on the rocks, two thousand seven hundred and forty feet below. Marshall etherically travels across the world and through the eyes of the many people whose lives were a part of making his Porsche and the clothes he is wearing. Including the countries of the United States, Japan, South Africa, Jamaica, Cuba, India, Mexico, Congo, England, Brazil, France, Germany, Israel, Egypt, China, Indonesia, and the Hawaiian Islands.
Marshall encounters the experiences of a miner, a Nobel Laureate, a political activist, a doctor, Angels, Demons, a world music artist, a renown classical composer, factory worker, a fisherman, socialites, the dispossessed, native American elders, the architect of a city, a scientist, his inner child, a hula dancer, a knight, a philosopher, a monk, a prostitute, lawyer, a CEO, Moses, Mohammed, Bhudda, Jesus, and a gardener.
The fate of Marshall Holden lies in a delicate balance. His meeting Krisna reveals a whole universe unfolding in his divine glance; forever changing Marshall's core being, an awakening, in a provocative experience of self realization of being inextricably linked to everything living in our global village.
About the Author
Brian Ross is a poet, photographer, anthropologist, and father of four daughters. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg School of Communications. He chases light and stories with his his family in Maui, Hawaii and Malibu, California.
