The poems in Holy Ground reveal a typically American life in the 20th Century. Author Richard Trennert was born to Erdman Trennert and Catherine Ciccione in 1936. He received undergraduate and graduate degrees in English Literature from Hofstra University and SUNY Stony Brook respectively. He served in the U.S. Army and taught English and Poetry for 34 years at Hauppauge High School.
