About the Book

Mooring the Karibean Bear is a story of the corruption and redemption of a hinterland young adult. Rolf Winterstein has sought an education and professional employment in the lower mainland metropolitan area of the Pacific northwest. The state has recently been annexed in the new world order of the United Federation of North American States.

Due to new age psycho-babble imbibed in college, he allows himself to get fouled up in drug addiction, bombed out in common law habitation, and terminally entangled in the employee games played for work survival. He is flooded with guilt and remorse over his parents' accidental death by a drug-crazed taxi driver. Even though shamed, the long suppressed natural vigor of youth resurfaces. Coupled with an in-born will to power Rolf returns to the hinterland and cold turkey addictive recovery. Coming home again, he is determined to avenge citified humiliation.

Purged of narcissistic recidivism he embarks of a final fishing expedition, contending once again directly with the savage forces of an unforgiving natural environment. This adventurous voyage strengthens self-esteem and fortifies courage to succeed in whatever fates the future holds. Having come to terms with his own self-integrity, he intends to restore his family heritage in a commercial fish-farming venture.
