About the Book

Camp outs and cold sodas at the drugstore mark the extent of their adventures. But as they mature during the turbulent decade of the 60's, they learn the very real lessons of love, courage and devotion. Friendships are made and lost, memories retrieved and the flavor of life savored, all in the relentless chill of the Cold War. From high school graduation to the dangerous skies over the Soviet Union, Will and June hold against a tide race of circumstance, anchored only by childlike audacity and a fervent hope for the future.

About the Author

The Creative Writers Project® began as a way to instruct home educated high school students to write fiction. Their teacher, Scott Newmann, challenged them to move beyond conventional limitations and express their own unique perspective. The result is Laughing Lions. Both teacher and students live in suburban Dallas, Texas.
