About the Author
Rustum Roy is one of the nation's and world's leading materials scientists, honored by election to the U.S. National Academy in 1973, and subsequently to the National Academies of Japan, Sweden, India, and Russia. In the Emperor of Japan's 2002 Honors List, Prof. Roy was inducted into the Order of the Rising Sun with Gold Rays. At Penn State, the Materials Research Laboratory he founded and directed for 23 years was recognized in April 2003 as the world's leading laboratory in the number of most highly cited scientists.
For twenty years, Rustum has been involved with whole person healing (complementary and alternative medicine).
He is Chair of the 501(c)(3) Friends of Health and of its Science Advisory Committee. This group is the only such group of scientists in the world, examining and putting into the public domain the whole range of scientific examinations of Whole Person Healing (a.k.a. CAM) practices.
