About the Book

The Present Situation by Rick Strauss offers fascinating glimpses of a man who was introduced to Queen Elizabeth in l960. In '68 he embraced Jesus, gave away all his money (several million), and in '83 he spent nine months in the gutter of the L.A. ghetto. Today he's a happy "retread hippie" on the Westside.

The book presents a collection of unusual but important insights into the dynamics of love and the Apocalypse-a subject which Rick has pursued since '72. He says, "Today people are frightened by the flash bang and never get hear about the happy end. They don't know or have forgotten Jesus takes away their feelings of inadequacy and invites them into the kingdom of heaven." Rick discusses the meaning of the term-it emphasizes the loving nature of God-and describes how to take advantage of this free gift.

The Present Situation compares the Apocalypse to a "rite of passage." God calls on us to love him and our neighbors. Now we'll reveal whether we're on his side or not.

Rick Strauss was a shipyard worker, ranch hand, screen writer, international glamour photographer, has mentored street kids since 1965. In ?68 he embraced Jesus. He also studied world religions for 70 years. Today he writes about how God?s unconditional love can prepare us for the Apocalypse. He lives in L.A.
