About the Book
One didn't have to be a fan of Punk Rock to be familiar with the wild antics of Rat Oppenheimer and his band The Pythons. Of the four albums they recorded two went platinum and one gold. They had seven songs that made Billboard's top forty and two of those climbed to number one. But their wild lifestyle caught up with them and the band collapsed in 1982.
Oppenheimer struggled with drugs and several failed marriages over the next fifteen years and was never able to get his music career back on tract. In 2005 he got into serious trouble with the law while living in Los Angeles and spent four days evading capture while at the same time attempted to get his many personal problems resolved. In his own words Rat Oppenheimer recounts his story over those four days in dark, dramatic and even comedic detail. Rat's odyssey includes a drunken gunfight at a famous Hollywood eatery, a kidnapping and escape to Mexico, a strip club and a police chase driving a Ferrari, reconnecting with some old rock-n-roll cronies, a hallucinatory meeting his own rock idol and ultimately discovering the importance of being Rat Oppenheimer, the man.About the Author
