About the Book
Several years ago, knowing that her life was in danger because she had stumbled on information that ruthless men did not want her to know, Katherine Oberman and her teenage daughter, Sarah, entered the witness protection program. On a secluded island in South Carolina, they are trying to build new lives for themselves. But all this changes when the unthinkable happens. Sarah goes missing.
Katherine is prepared to do anything to save Sarah. What she isn't prepared for is to have two men reenter her life-one of them fighting to regain her trust, the other determined to see her dead.
Entwined in this dangerous situation is Jila, a native Gullah girl who befriends Sarah. Unbeknown to Jila, her deep spiritual beliefs will be tested in ways she never imagined as the bond that holds her and Sarah together is pushed to its limits.
As this hair-raising drama unfolds, all those involved are tested and changed forever-that is, if they survive.
