In a little niche of Chicago, is the neighborhood of Pilsen. In the heart of Pilsen are the people who carry the stories of their Mexican culture, ancestors, families, friends and future. Between Ashland and Laflin, Cermak and 21st lies Benito Juarez Community Academy?one square block of talent. We are one brought together by a common interest and a common past. We are writers, students, teachers, brothers, sisters, leaders, givers. Together we are searching for our voice. Some of us took longer to find it and needed a lot of encouragement to shout out our stories, but together, we did it. Together we are brave. Together we are one. We are Laura Reyes.
