About the Book

This work comprises a 38-year journey from the first poem jw harding wrote in 1965 to 2003. It is, in fact a sojourn in search of the beautiful.

Harding travels from the "City of Lost Dreams" (Albuquerque, NM)in fits and starts-by slowly finding his way into wilderness areas in New Mexico-such as Jack's Creek in the Pecos and Dead Mule Canyon on the outskirts of the Black Range.

One day in 1989, the need to move grabbed him by the throat. Suddenly he found himself 250 miles south in the great expanse of the Gila.

In a kind of writing mecca (The High Lonesome Ranch) Harding began writing and collating work reaching back to high school and a quirky, creative writing teacher named Richard Ness.

During this time, Harding wrote about the many-faceted being called Woman, about his son Adam, about Adam's mother, Catherine, and finally about the one true lover all men share:Wilderness.
