Born on a Saturday night in the middle of a poker game, "Whitey" Romash demonstrates the difference one person can make with a commitment to honesty and fairness, and a willingness to work hard.

His story starts in the Lower East Side, in the crowded apartments he shared with his immigrant parents and three brothers. A talented basketball player, Romash offers a vivid picture of the settlement houses and schools that provided lessons on the court and in the classroom. But it was on the streets that he learned important lessons too, starting with his boyhood experiences selling newspapers. He would build a successful career as he helped build a new marking pen industry-traveling Japan and the Far East while growing his family in Philadelphia and then New York. A successful businessman, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, "Whitey" Romash also knows how to tell a story, his story.

About the Author

Herman ?Whitey? Romash lives in Cherry Hill, New Jersey with the love of his life and wife of more than 60 years, Sonia. Together they raised four children and now celebrate 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A Life?s Story is his story.
