About the Book
This is a biographical account of the Author Bruce Vaughan's experiences working for a British meat company in the interior of Brazil in the fifties. The narrative starts with a recent return visit to Mato Grosso do Sul, where Bruce spent some of his time as a cowboy, forty years previously. The exciting period of the author's life is vividly re-experienced as he shares with the reader what it was like to leave Britain as a young man and plunge into the exciting life of a cowboy in upcountry Brazil. The author skillfully mixes humor, compassion as well as tragedy in this very personal story.
About the Author
Bruce Vaughan spent three years in the interior of Brazil working for the British meat conglomerate Vestey. Later he went to Malaya in the Rubber industry as a planter, before settling on his final career and obtaining a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He now lives in Hong Kong.
